A VITAL LINK TO MARION'S PAST
Union station provides an educational point of interest to young and old alike, a central meeting place for members of the community. It is a cornerstone to the revitalization of Marion Town Center and the rebirth of the west side of Marion. A symbol of community spirit in action. Marion Union station...for all these reasons and more.


WHO ARE WE AND WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?
We are The Marion Union Station Association. Chartered by The State of Ohio in 1986, we are a non profit organization composed of a group of Marion area citizens dedicated to purchasing and restoring the historic depot.


WHAT ARE OUR GOALS AND WHEN WILL WE REACH THEM
Our goal is to fully restore and renovate the Depot to be used as a community center with space available for community activities and meetings.  It will house a museum area dedicated to the persons and railroads who built Marion and America. It will also house a gift and hobby shop and other compatible shops, as well as a model railroad display and a tourist information center. To see a floor plan click here. In January the Marion Union Station Association (MUSA) signed purchase agreements with the owners of the depot and made a down payment toward the purchase price.  These agreements allow the MUSA six months to raise the remaining balance. We presently plan for some areas of the building to be open to the public within six months of final purchase. The entire project should be finished within a period of two years.

You can help support the rebirth of Marion Union Station by generously donating to the MUSA fund drive. If you haven't already been asked, you probably will be approached and asked to make a contribution. Contributions are tax deductible, to the extent provided by the law, and can be spread out over a three year period.
