Fall Hydrant Flushing Continues In Marion

10-11-2005  Article by:

Ohio-American Water Company continues their fall flushing program Monday, October 10, through Friday, October 14.

The flushing process may cause some temporary water discoloration, but will not affect your water's safety. Running the water for several minutes should eliminate the problem. While it may be an inconvenience, the water company says it is necessary to keep our water system in good condition.

You should not do laundry when flushing is taking place in your area. You should also note when the flushing will be in your general area of town as it does not have to take place on your street for it to affect your water color.

If you have questions about the flushing schedule or if your clothing does become discolored by doing laundry, contact Ohio-American Water at 1-800-673-5999.
