A man wanted for questioning in connection with a March murder in Marion has been found.
22-year-old Percy Shaw was arrested by the Detroit Division of the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team on Friday evening. He has been charged locally with having weapons under disability. He also faces charges in Michigan for parole violation.
Police have been seeking Shaw since the March 6th homicide of Trevor Herron at the corner of Blaine Avenue and West Church Street.
Shaw was not named a suspect, but Marion County Prosecutor Jim Slagle sought the weapons charge in relation to that night, meaning Shaw is believed to have been armed.
Officers with the Marion City Police Department originally believed Shaw was in the company of Tiffany Flournoy, although she later contacted authorities to tell them she was okay. She did not reveal Shaw’s location.
Shaw has family from Detroit and is originally from there.
Shaw now faces extradition. If he waives the right to fight it, he will be back in Marion in days. Otherwise, the Ohio Governor’s office would have to issue a warrant with Michigan’s governor having to sign off on it.
