Historical Society Holding Rummage Sale

04-11-2008  Article by:

The Marion County Historical Society is holding a Museum and Membership Rummage Sale on April 19- 20, Saturday and Sunday from 9-5 PM in the auditorium at Heritage Hall and in the parking lot behind the museum, weather permitting. A members only Presale will be held on April 18 from 4-8 pm.

Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase collections preservation supplies and to support the MCHS operating budget.

The mission of the Marion County Historical Society is to document the history of Marion County, Ohio by identifying, collecting, and preserving artifacts, records and personal papers of value from Marion County residents, organizations, businesses, and related groups from the prehistoric times to the present. Items included in this sale are donated specifically to be sold for the benefit of MCHS.

For those unfamiliar with Heritage Hall, it is located on the corner of Church and State Streets with the parking lot on the south side of the building.

Anyone wishing to donate good used items to MCHS for the sale may bring them to Heritage Hall between 1 and 4 PM on Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13 or between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM on April 17 and 18.

While they are accepting donations of a wide variety of items, they prefer that no clothing be donated. Call 740-387-4255 for more details.
