The finalists have been named for the Pearl Roberts Award, which will be presented on Tuesday, May 20th.
The finalists are Thomas and Marian Rowe, Richard Thatcher, Phyllis Hendrix, Patricia Baldinger, and Vi Griffith.
The award is named in honor of Pearl Roberts who exemplified the word "volunteer" at a later stage in life. Roberts was instrumental in the development of the current Marion Senior Center facility as well as many other programs and services for Marion area older adults.
The 2008 winner of the Roberts Award will be chosen for demonstrated community involvement and volunteerism predominantly after the age of 55.
