Firefighters Holding Concert, Warn of Scam

04-25-2008  Article by:

Marion Township Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 2134 will sponsor their 13th annual Country Concert on Sunday June 22, 2008 at 7:00 PM. The Country Concert will be held at the Historic Palace Theatre and will feature Shania Twin a Shania Twain Tribute. General admission will be $17.00.

In conjunction with this presentation, Local 2134 will distribute a Fire Prevention Handbook (free of charge), featuring a business directory and buyers guide that will acknowledge all businesses and organizations that have helped support Marion Township Fire Fighters Local 2134. Along with an ad or donation, businesses will receive complimentary tickets to the concert.

Proceeds from the advertising will be used to educate and promote Fire Fighter safety, help fund Fire Fighter sponsored programs such as MDA and the I.A.F.F. Burn Foundation, and also enhance public awareness in such areas as smoke detectors, child safety, reflective address signs, and home safety education.

Local 2134 also strives to purchase new equipment used in the protection of the public. The thermal imaging camera, hydraulic rams, pediatric bag, CO/combustible gas & oxygen analyzer and the turnout gear extractor/washer are examples of items purchased and donated.

Any questions may be referred to President Ron Jewell at Marion Township Fire Department (740) 387-5404.

For advertisement, tickets, or show information, call the ticket office at (740) 382-4100.

The Association is also reminding Marion residents that Creative Safety Products is not associated with the Association. Any money given to the CSP will go to Gahanna, not to Marion.
