Work To Start On SR 95/98 Intersection 04-29-2008

As part of The Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) initiative to prioritize safety, an intersection improvement project will begin April 30 at the intersection of State Routes 95 and 98 in Marion County.

A study showed 28,000 vehicles travel through this intersection daily, and the number is expected to increase to over 40,000 vehicles in the next 20 years. The area around the intersection of State Routes 95 and 98 has also changed from mostly farmland to commercial and residential developments.

The scope of the construction will include the installation of left turn lanes in each direction, widening the shoulders, and traffic signal upgrades. The intersection will remain open throughout the project with traffic being shifted to temporary lanes to accommodate construction.

The $1.2 million project is scheduled to be complete in October 2008.
