OSUM will host their monthly Science Café Tuesday, May 6 at Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room beginning at 7 PM.
The topic will be Ohio’s geology and will feature Mark Camp, associate professor of geology at the University of Toledo and author of the book Roadside Geology of Ohio.
Camp will lead those in attendance on virtual field trips from Marion. The trip will begin heading southwest to the oldest bedrock in the state between Dayton and Cincinnati. It will continue through the prehistoric glaciers of Ohio that covered a good portion of the state over two million years ago.
This will be the last Science Café for the 2007-2008 academic year, but the series will resume in the fall.
The event is free and open to the public.
