05-15-2008  Article by:

The Marion County Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer a class in CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) skills on Wednesday, May 21st. The training will cover procedures almost anyone can use to assist adults, children and infants with breathing and heart-related emergencies. The class will be held at the Alber Red Cross Center, 1849 Summerset Dr., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a 30-minute break for lunch.

The fee for the class and materials is $45.96, including tax. Class size is limited and prepayment is required. Participants may sign up and pay fees in person at the Alber Red Cross Center, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the same hours, students may register by phone and pay with a major credit card. A scholarship program is in place to cover some or all of the fee, depending on financial need.

To learn more, call the Red Cross at (740) 725-9141.
