The Marion County Sheriff Explorers need your help. The Explorer Post is a Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America that is designed to teach basic law enforcement skills to youth ages 14 to 21. They will be participating in a skills competition in Colorado this summer. Some of the skills that the explorers will have to demonstrate include first aide, traffic stops, domestic cases, building searches and many more.
To help fund this trip for the explorers, they are having a rummage sale on Saturday, June 7 from 7:00am until 6:00pm at Safety City on 123 E. Mark St. The rummage sale will be inside so come rain or shine!
They are also asking for donations of items to sell. Contact Deputy Amy McDonald at the Marion County Building Security Desk or you can reach her at (740) 223-4180 to make arrangements to drop off any items. They can also pick up items if you are unable to drop them off.
Any items left over from the sale will be donated to the Salvation Army.
The Sheriff Explorers are a 501c3 organization and you can be provided with a receipt, for tax purposes, for the item donated. If you would like to make a monetary donation, this will also be accepted and appreciated.
