Popcorn Festival Entertainment Finalized

06-06-2008  Article by:

The Marion Popcorn Festival’s entertainment line-up has been finalized.

On Thursday, Aerosmith tribute act Draw the Line will take the stage playing hits of the famous Boston band. Draw the Line is the only tribute band in the country officially endorsed by Aerosmith.

Friday will see country music star Phil Vassar. Vassar is a singer songwriter who penned songs like Tim McGraw’s “My Next Thirty Years” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Bye, Bye” before making his recording mark with “Just Another Day in Paradise” in 2000.

Vassar just recently released his fifth studio album Prayer of a Common Man with the hit single “Love is a Beautiful Thing”, which hit the Top 5 on country music charts.

The festival winds up on Saturday with southern rock legends Molly Hatchet. Best known from their single “Flirtin’ With Disaster”, Molly Hatchet comes from the same area as Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special.

The 27th annual Marion Popcorn Festival will take place September 4th, 5th, and 6th in downtown Marion.
