Man Sentenced For Sex With 11-Year-Old

06-06-2008  Article by:

David Walker, 34, was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to multiple child sex offenses Thursday afternoon.

Walker appeared before Common Pleas Judge Robert Davidson and entered guilty pleas to two counts of rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition. The charges pertained to sexual conduct Walker engaged in last November and December with an 11-year-old family member.

The rape charges were based on Walker engaging in sexual conduct with a person who was under 13 years of age. No force or violence was alleged.

Walker was immediately sentenced by Judge Davidson. Walker could be held in prison for the rest of his life. He will not be eligible for his first parole hearing until 2018. The Ohio Parole Board will determine whether Walker is ever released from prison.

Walker was arrested by officers from the Marion Police Department on Feb. 20th and has remained in jail since that time. He will be transported to the Correctional Reception Center in Orient to begin serving his prison term within the next few days.

If Walker is ever released from prison he will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
