Ron Bachman, president and CEO of Marion General Hospital, is the 103rd person affiliated with the Marion Rotary Club to be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Recognition of Bachman as a Paul Harris Fellow took place at a recent Rotary Club meeting.
The Fellowship is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905. The Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 and expresses appreciation to any individual who contributes $1,000 or more to the humanitarian and education programs of the Rotary Foundation.
These programs include an array of projects that save and invigorate the lives of the people around the world and enhance international friendship and understanding. Foundation programs provide educational opportunities, food, potable water, healthcare, immunizations and shelter for millions of people. These activities are funded, implemented and managed by Rotarians and Rotary clubs around the globe.
Bachman joined the Marion Rotary Club in 2000 and has actively supported its programs. He was especially supportive during the December 2007 fundraiser, being the top salesperson of tickets for the all-expenses-paid trip to the BCS Bowl Championship in New Orleans.
