The Fraternal Order of Police have released their endorsements for the November general election. Among the list are several new faces to Marion County politics.
Candidates were screened June 9th and 10th by committee before being voted on by all members in attendance.
“An endorsement from the Marion FOP indicates that a majority of the membership find that the candidates best represent the interests of local law enforcement and the community at large,” a press release stated.
The release also went on to explain that candidates’ answers were taken into account as well as performance in areas critical to the law enforcement functions by incumbents.
Those endorsed included Bob Fragale for Marion County Common Pleas Court Judge; Brent Yager for Prosecutor; Melanie Parish for Clerk of Courts; and state representative candidates Dave Burke and Jeffrey McClain.
The FOP did not offer an endorsement of either Ken Frayer or Dan Russell in the race for Marion County Commissioner.
