E. Coli Found In Beef

06-26-2008  Article by:

Ground beef sold in Ohio has been linked to E. Coli bacteria.

Tests done by the Ohio Department of Health are continuing tests to see if the sample matches the strain that has sickened 32 in Ohio and Michigan.

At least half of the 15 Michigan residents who fell ill from the bacteria bought and ate ground beef from Kroger.

The supplier of the beef has not been identified, but the meat, which was sold in Columbus and Toledo area stores, has not been on shelves since early June.

The outbreak has led to one case of kidney failure but no deaths.

Symptoms of E. Coli include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and severe stomach cramps.
