Three family members involved into a burglary ring face prison time after entering guilty pleas. Robert D. Oller, 39, his wife Nora Oller, 45, and Nora’s daughter, Jessica Bolden, 20, entered guilty pleas to receiving stolen property and burglary.
Robert Oller was immediately sentenced to four years in prison.
Nora Oller and Bolden will be sentenced at a later date following a pre-sentence investigation. Marion County Prosecutor Jim Slagle stated that he has recommended prison sentences for Nora Oller and Bolden, as well.
All three defendants were scheduled for jury trial to commence on Monday before Common Pleas Judge Robert Davidson. As a result of their guilty pleas, the trial has been cancelled.
The three defendants were found on May 6 at the Travelodge Motel in possession of stolen property which came from seven different residential burglaries which were committed between April 13 and May 6. The Ollers were arrested on that date. Bolden was arrested on May 14.
All three defendants remained in custody at the Multi-County Correctional Center since their arrest. Robert Oller will be transported to the Correctional Reception Center in Orient to begin serving his prison term.
No one was home during any of the seven burglaries and there were no witnesses who saw anyone enter or leave any of the residences.
Robert Oller pleaded guilty to participating in the April 13 burglary on Colonial Avenue. A neighbor saw Oller near the home near the time of the burglary.
Nora Oller and Bolden pleaded guilty to participating in a May 6 burglary on Whetstone River Road. A neighbor saw two females, who were later determined to be Oller and Bolden drive out of the driveway to the residence near the time of the burglary.
The Marion Police Dept. also received a tip about the suspects attempting to sell some of the stolen property.
“This case is another example of private citizens providing information to local law enforcement to help solve crimes,” Slagle stated.
The burglary charges are felonies which carry possible prison terms of one to five years. The receiving stolen property charge is a fourth degree felony which carries a possible prison term of six to eighteen months.
