Hospice, Woodmen Raise 5k With Sale

07-28-2008  Article by:

Marion General Hospital Hospice volunteers held what has turned into an annual garage sale to raise funds for assisting their patients and families. And Modern Woodmen of American camp 4267 of Marion helped them to increase the amount of money they made by matching the funds they raised – to the tune of $2,500.

The total raised for the event, including the $2,500 matching funds from Modern Woodmen, was $5,000.

The Matching Fund program offers Modern Woodmen camp members nationwide the chance to show their support of a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fundraisers. Modern Woodmen matches money raised up to $2,500. These fundraising projects contribute more than $5 million to community needs nationwide each year.

Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, today Modern Woodmen of America offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States. The organization’s Marion camp provides a number of volunteer service and social activities for local members.
