Marion CAN DO! has a new president. D. Craig Thompson of Oregon has been named the successor to Dave Claborn, who resigned earlier this year.
Thompson has spent the last 12 years in the field of economic development in Ohio, Colorado, and Oregon, including the last four years as the head of the Union County Economic Development Corporation in La Grande, Oregon.
Thompson received his associate’s degree in natural resource management from Muskingum Technical College in Zanesville, his bachelor’s degree from Wright State, and a master’s in public administration from The Ohio State University.
Dan Burkhart, the chairman of the CAN DO board, said “I believe he will be a wonderful addition to the Marion community,” about Thompson.
Burkhart added, “He has an excellent presence, an even demeanor, and projects himself well.”
Thompson will take over at CAN DO! on August 11th.
