Cheryl Cobb has joined the management team at Marion County Children Services as the new placement unit supervisor.
In her new position, Cobb will be responsible for identifying and working with foster families who care for children on a temporary basis, as well as monitoring the agency’s treatment foster care program. In addition, Cobb is responsible for identifying “forever” (adoptive) families for children who are in the permanent custody of Marion County Children Services.
She reports to Eric Bush, executive director.
Cobb has over 30 years of experience in the human services field, including the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, where she served as director of communications, as well as customer service and resource development director.
In addition, Cobb previously served as director of the Wisconsin Works Program, a welfare reform program, for four years.
She also has previous experience with Marion County Job & Family Services and Marion County Family Court.
Cobb has a bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University, and a master’s in social agency counseling from the University of Dayton. She is a graduate of Marion Harding High School.
“Children Services is fortunate to have Cheryl join our team in serving and protecting the children of Marion County,” said Bush. “Her extensive social service background and knowledge is a perfect fit for our foster care and adoption programs.”
A Marion resident, she and her husband, Dan, have three children and two grandchildren.
