Palace Teaching Ballroom, Tappercize

11-07-2008  Article by:

The Arts Palace, a visual and performing arts program of the Marion Palace Theatre, invites area teens and adults to join dance classes this quarter. Students will get a workout, build coordination and balance, meet new people and enjoy music all at the same time in the classes.

Returning this quarter to the ArtsPalace are the Beginner's Ball Room Dance lessons with April Morrison & Dan Snyder. These instructors teach foot work to anyone including beginners, teens, seniors and those born with two left feet. Students will learn moves to popular social dances including the Cha-Cha, East Coast Swing and the Waltz. Single dancers are welcome to register; however, dancers are encouraged to sign up with a partner. Classes will meet eight times on Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning Tuesday, November 18 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The fee is $35 per person.

Back by popular demand is Tappercize! taught by Clare Cooke and Kristi Wink. This dance exercise class is designed for adults 18 years & up. Students will learn to tone up, trim up, tighten up and have fun. Students will start with the basics of tap, move on to dance combinations, and by the end of ten weeks, dancers will have a routine to share with friends and family. Classes begin on Tuesday, November 18 from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Class fee is $60 per person.

Registration deadlines for the dance classes are November 11th.
