There’s another helping hand for area homeowners facing foreclosure in north-central Ohio. Earlier this month, ESOP (Empowering & Strengthening Ohio’s People) opened its newest office in Mansfield to provide face-to-face help for homeowners in foreclosure or pre-foreclosure in the Marion area.
As part of ESOP’s continuing expansion across the state, the Mansfield office will serve Richland and surrounding counties, including Marion, and provide free-of-charge loan modification and counseling services.
If you are a homeowner in mortgage difficulty or facing foreclosure, maybe ESOP can help.
A Cleveland-based organization, ESOP (pronounced E-SOP) began its state-wide expansion this year in an effort to better assist Ohio homeowners experiencing mortgage difficulties across the entire state, particularly in those areas hardest hit by the foreclosure epidemic. While most of ESOP’s previous work has centered on foreclosure prevention in northeastern counties, ESOP has helped many homeowners throughout all of Ohio from its Cleveland headquarter office. The new Mansfield office will provide homeowners in north-central Ohio communities the convenience of meeting “in-person” with a Foreclosure Prevention Advocate.
Homeowners seeking foreclosure assistance or more information on how to save their homes should contact ESOP to set up an appointment with a Foreclosure Prevention Advocate at:

ESOP saved more than 1,600 Ohio family homes in 2007 and is on track to save an additional 3,000 by the end of 2008. ESOP’s success stems from its established partnerships with various lenders and servicers, allowing for easy negotiation of loan modifications. ESOP has been nationally and internationally recognized for its success obtaining mortgage resolutions that help families stay in their homes. ESOP is non-profit and charges no fees for its services. It relies on charitable donations and grants from foundations, corporations and the State of Ohio for its funding.
