06-05-2009  Article by:

On Thursday, June 4, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the TIPS line that included the name of a seventeen year old juvenile who was possibly responsible for shooting the donkey in western Marion County on May 30.

An investigator with the sheriff’s office located the seventeen year old subject. The investigator says the teen confessed and the suspected weapon used was recovered.

The report will be forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges on the juvenile.

Sheriff Tim Bailey says he wants to thank the public for the information provided to help resolve this investigation.

Anyone wishing to report any information about this and other crimes can do so by contacting the Sheriff’s Office at (740) 382-8244 or by calling the TIPS line at (740) 375-TIPS (8477).
