The Marion Popcorn Festival has named a cappella groups InChant and 4 THE RECORD as the entertainment for the Palace Theatre on Thursday afternoon, September 10, at 2:00.  As with all Festival entertainment, this performance is free to the public. . 
 
A cappella is a form of vocal music or singing without instrumental accompaniment. 
InChant is a contemporary a cappella vocal group based on the Marion campus of The Ohio State University and Marion Technical College.  InChant performs throughout Ohio, the Midwest, and the nation at business and organization functions, concert halls, schools, college campuses, churches, outdoor festivals, and community events.  Members of InChant include:  Morgan Candel, Pat Chitwood, Kali Creasap, Jessica Johnson, Cierra Mathys, Zak Pressley, and OJ Sims.
 
Formed in the spring of 2009 from a group of talented and experienced musicians and vocalists from across Ohio, 4 THE RECORD is a vocal band that delivers a high energy, unique musical experience to audiences of all ages.  Based in the heart of America's Great Lakes region, the group performs music from turn of the century jazz to hits from 70's, 80's, 90's and today.  4 THE RECORD's music brings a cappella into modern day with timeless arrangements of songs everyone knows and loves.
 
Members of 4 THE RECORD include:  Reid Barth, Kiersten Bowmer, Mark Meginness, Chris Ott, Brittany Roszman, and Wayne Rowe. 

The 2009 dates of the Marion Popcorn Festival are September 10, 11 and 12.  Previously announced were country-rock group Sawyer Brown on Friday, September 11, and rock ‘n roll band Survivor on Saturday, September 12.  Both performances will begin at 8:30 p.m. on the Festival’s main stage and are free of charge.  Kernel sponsorship seats for Survivor or Sawyer Brown are available by calling 740-383-2076.
