Teen Faces Charges From 2008 Fatal Crash 06-16-2009

A Marion teenager is facing several years in prison after prosecutors charged her in a fatal November 2008 crash. The crash killed a Harding High School student and injured another teen.

Hali Gibson, 19, was driving on Holland Road, east of Waterworks Road, when she passed another vehicle.

Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say Gibson was driving at a very high rate of speed and was possibly drag racing.

Gibson lost control and struck a tree.

Brandon Nelson, 15, was killed while another passenger, Montana Roose, 16, was injured.

Gibson faces up to five years in prison on a third degree charge of aggravated vehicular homicide and another 6 to 18 months for a fourth degree felony charge of vehicular assault.

Gibson pled not guilty during an arraignment on Monday.
