Ohio State Students Warned About Aid Issues

06-18-2009  Article by:

A new computer system's technical glitches are holding up financial aid for hundreds of Ohio State University students.

As a result, the nation's largest university says it can't guarantee that students will have their scholarships, grants and loans by Monday, the due date for fees for summer courses.

Officials say they've resolved some problems with the new $50 million student information system, including those related to direct deposit. But other issues remain, including difficulties with processing aid for students transferring to Ohio State's main Columbus campus from its regional branches.

Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid Michele Wade says if students aren't able to pay their summer bills on time, they can appeal any late fees.
