The 159th Marion County Fair start Monday, which is also the first day to take advantage of discount entry.

This year, the cost to get into the fair is $6.00, with kids 10 and under admitted free.

However, on Monday, bringing in a can of food before 2 PM will get the bearer in for free.  Also, free entry will be granted to Veterans and Senior Citizens.

On Tuesday, kids below the age of 12 will get in free before 2 PM.

Marion County Employees Day, typically held on Thursday, has been cancelled due to the budget problems plaguing the county.

On July 4th, the demolition derby will be followed by the annual fireworks display.

Fair memberships are still available for the week at $20.00.

Unlimited ride passes will be sold for $12.00 each day.
