Marion Unemployment Dips Lower Again 06-24-2009

For the third consecutive month, Marion County’s unemployment rate has dropped.

The numbers, released Tuesday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, showed Marion County with a May unemployment rate of 10.3%, down from 10.9% in April and from a record high of 12% in February.

Morrow County had a rate of 10.7% while Crawford County continues to have one of the worst rates in Ohio at 15.8%, the 3rd worst in the state.

Wyandot County has a 13.1% rate, the same as last week.

Delaware County had the state’s best rate while 5 counties had a rate worse than 15%.

The state unemployment rate sits at 10.8%.
