Summer may only be in its first week, but River Valley schools have announced plans for the 2009-2010 school year.

The Middle School, High School, and elementary students, 1st through 5th grades,  will begin the school year on August 20th.

Kindergarten students will once again participate in the gentle start program, meant to ease children into the schedule of school.

Students with last names A-F will go to school on the 20th.

Last names G-M will attend on August 21st.

Last names N-Z will start on Monday, August 24th.

Finally, on August 25th all kindergarten students will begin attending class regularly.

Additionally, elementary schools will be holding a Back To School Day on August 13th from 9 AM to Noon and 5 PM to 8 PM.  That day, student fees can be paid, students will find out their teachers, bus routes, and school supplies.  Additionally, parents can fill out necessary paperwork.

On Wednesday, August 19th both Liberty and Heritage Elementary schools will host open houses.  Grades K-2nd will be welcomes from 5:30 PM to 6:15 PM; and grades 3rd-5th from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM.  Specialists will be present from 6 PM to 6:45 PM.
