Program Offers Help With Electric Bills 07-01-2009

The Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission will start offering help through its 2009 Summer Crisis Program today.

The program can help with electric bills, air conditioners, and fans.The program is based on a first-come first served basis until the funding is gone.

Applicants must be at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines, which means an income of $38,587.50 for a family of four.

Anyone applying under the age of 60 must submit a letter from a physician stating the benefits of air conditioning on the applicant’s medical history.

Applicants must also bring heating and electric bills, 13 weeks of income history, and social security numbers.
