Blood Drives Set For Rest of the Week 07-02-2009

Three blood drives are scheduled in the coming days.

The first is today from 10 AM to 4 PM in Conference Rooms A, B, & C at the Marion Area Health Center, 1050 Delaware Avenue.

On Friday, the Marion Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a drive at the First Consolidated Fire District, located at 115 North High Street from 1 PM to 7 PM.

The final drive of the week takes place on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Marion County Fair, near the north end of the midway.

Appointments for most drives may be arranged by calling Central Scheduling at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (800-448-3543) or by going online to www.bloodsaveslives.org.

The Marion County Chapter can also assist with setting appointments; call 740-725-9141, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Donors who are on time for appointments will be given priority at all drives. Donors with appointments who arrive other than at their scheduled times and walk-ins will be welcomed whenever openings in the schedule permit.

CiCi’s Pizza of Marion in the University Forum shopping center rewards every Marion County blood donor with a coupon for a free 7” personal “Pizza to Go.” Contact the restaurant at 740-386-2191 for complete details.

Because donations sometimes slump during the summer months, the following incentives have been added to encourage participation. Each presenting donor:

  • Will receive a free discount coupon from Cedar Point, worth $7 off paid admission to the park.
  • Will be entered in a free summer-long raffle. Nine finalists will each win a $100 gas card. The grand prize winner will receive a one-year lease on the Saturn vehicle of his or her choice.
  • Will receive a free coupon from Saturn of Columbus. Any volunteer who test drives a Saturn at a participating dealership may exchange the coupon for a free $20 gas card.

Some conditions and restrictions may apply. For details, contact the Marion County Chapter at 725-9141.
