Recalls Issued Involving Baby Products 07-03-2009

Two big recalls have affected baby items.

Over 4 million floating baby pool toys, made by Aqua-Leisure Industries, have been recalled due to a drowning risk because of tears in leg straps and seats.

Some of the floating devices were made in the shape of boats, crabs, turtles, or cars. They were sold between December 2002 and June 2009 at Target, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Dollar General, Kmart, Walgreens, and other stores.

Addtionally, 400,000 cribs from Simplicity Incorporated have been recalled after an 8-month-old in Houston died from suffocation.

The cribs have a defective drop-down side with 25 reports of the drop-side detaching from the crib.

The cribs cost $150 and $300 and were sold at various stores between January 2005 and June 2009.

Return these items to the original store of purchase.
