City Set To Collect Leaves

10-08-2009  Article by:

Mayor Scott Schertzer has announced that leaf collection for the city will begin on Monday, October 19th and continue through Friday, December 18th.

There are three options for disposal.

The first is to place laves in the tree lawn area to be vaccumed.  Four vacuum trucks will collect leaves raked to the tree lawn each area.  Each street will see the collectors twice during the season.

The city is reminding residents not to rake leaves into the street as they can clog catch basins and drains.

The second method of disposal is to place leaves in biodegradable bags and place them curbside the day following regular garbage pick up.

The third method of disposal is to drop off leaves to the city’s site at 960 West Center Street between 3 and 6 PM Monday through Friday.  Leaves in biodegradable bags will be accepted.  Any leaves not in those bags must be dumped out.  Proof of residency must be provided.
