River Valley Schools are inviting the public to informational meetings every Monday at the River Valley High School Library/Media Center from 5-7 PM. The meetings concern the upcoming Emergency Operating Levy on the November 3rd ballot, covering 4.66 mills.
The levy proceeds will be used to support the general day-to-day operations of the River Valley School System, according to the district’s website.
River Valley currently spends approximately 20% less than the state average per-pupil, equal to about $2,000 per student.
According to the district, $1,000,000 must be made up by the 2010-2011 school year, either in cuts or additional revenue.
Meetings to discuss the levy will be held October 12, 19th, and 26th.
Anyone with questions who are unable to attend the meetings can call 725-5401 or find information at the website, www.rivervalley.k12.oh.us.
