The Marion County Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer a class in CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) skills on Saturday, October 17th. The training will cover procedures almost anyone can use to assist adults, children and infants with breathing and heart-related emergencies. The class will be held at the Alber Red Cross Center, 1849 Summerset Dr., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a 30-minute break for lunch.

The fee for the class and materials is $47.03, including tax. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants may sign up and pay fees in person at the Alber Red Cross Center on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the same hours, students may register by phone and pay with a major credit card. Community assistance may be available to defray some of the cost, depending on financial need.
