The Fraternal Order of Police is asking the public to vote for the Marion County Children Services levy on November 3rd.
“It is clear that a vote against the CSB levy in November will result in added burdens being placed upon our law enforcement officers, which are already understaffed and overworked,” BJ Gruber, the political affairs chairman for the Steve Young Memorial Lodge #24, said in a press release.
“We see children on a daily basis, who through no fault of their own, live in a drug house and have no choice in their living conditions and no voice to change it. We see children every week who fall victim to physical, emotional, and sexual assault, who have no choice and have no voice to change their situation,” he added.
Children Services is seeking a 2.12 mill, 5 year renewal levy after barely losing the vote last November. The renewal is also a reduction meaning passage would result in lower taxes for Children Services
