In observance of Alzheimer Awareness month, the Marion County Council on Aging is sponsoring a Memory Screening Day on Friday, November 13, 2009.
Abby Roberts, social worker with the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, will be here in to administer a Mini-Mental Status Exam (MMSE), which is frequently used as a dementia screening instrument.
The MMSE is a 30 item assessment administered by a physician or other health care professional and can give an indication of early problems. There is no cost for the screening, which takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete, and is by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment, contact the Marion County Council on Aging at 387-0401.
