Five people have been arrested following a rash of thefts in the Grandview Estates subdivision. All of those arrested were 19-years-old or younger.
At 12:45 Friday morning, Deputies investigating a theft on Capaldi Drive stopped a vehicle reported to have been involved. Inside the car, Deputies Rick Hare and Eric Nicholson say they found property that had been reported stolen. As a result, they have recommended a charge of receiving stolen property against 19-year-old Cory Townsend. Paul Kahler, 19, was issued a summons for possession of drug abuse instruments.
A female in the car was released.
Less than three hours later, the same deputies found three males walking between houses on Weiss Drive. Those subjects were found in possession of alleged stolen property from the 1600 and 1700 block of Linn Hispsher Road and the 1900 block of Weiss.
Arrested on charges of misdemeanor theft was Jordan Williamson, 19, and two juveniles, 16 and 17.
Officers say one of the juveniles also had marijuana in his possession.
Formal charges are pending with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
