H1N1 Clinics Opening Up To More People

11-06-2009  Article by:

The Marion County and Marion City Health Departments have extended their clinics this week to include three new subgroups.

Originally, the focus of the H1N1 clinic was on pregnant women and children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years.

Friday, the clinic will also be open to people who care for infants less than 6 months old, healthcare workers, and children between the ages of 5 and 18 with medical conditions.

The clinic, located in the public health wing of Marion General Hospital, is open from 2 PM until 7 PM.

Please take ID to quicken the registration process.

Additionally, a public clinic will be held Saturday, November 14th at Harding High School from 9 AM to 1 PM. Along with the above mentioned sub groups, vaccinations will also be given to anyone up to the age of 24 and persons aged 25 through 64 with medical conditions.

Parking and the clinic entrance will be on the student parking side of the building located closest to State Route 23. Both the nasal spray and injectible H1N1 vaccine will be offered to the groups that have been identified as groups with the highest risk for H1N1 influenza related complications.

A screening process will be set-up and those not in one of the high risk groups will be turned away.
