A Marion woman is facing charges of child endangerment following a May fire that killed two of her children.
20-year-old Cheyenne Tackett was arrested in Scioto County and brought back to Marion, where she pleaded not guilty to four counts of endangering a child on Tuesday in front of Marion County Common Pleas Judge Robert Davidson.
2-year-old Jacob Tackett and 8-month-old Madison Barrett were killed when their apartment at 236 Blaine Avenue caught fire on May 8th.
A 4-year old and 19-month old were rescued from the fire.
An investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s office found that one of the children caught a blanket on fire with a lighter.
Charges are also pending for Daniel Barrett, the father of Madison.
A call to the Marion County Prosecutor’s office was not returned as of press time.
