The African Children’s Choir will be appearing in concert at River Valley High School on Sunday, November 22 at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium.
Admission is free, but there will be a free will offering.
The group will also perform at the 10:30 church service Sunday, November 22, at Dayspring Wesleyan Church on Marion -Mt. Gilead Road.
The group (choir #34) is currently touring the eastern United States with twenty-three 9 to 11 year old African youths from Kenya and Uganda.
The choir was started in 1984. The primary goal of the African Children's Choir is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the African Children’s Choir Programs.
Organizers say the Choir’s international educational endeavor provides unique training for the children. Once Choir members have completed a concert tour, they will return to their homelands with the tools necessary for bettering their future.
