Two committee meetings will take place tonight before the regularly scheduled Marion City Council Meeting.
At 7PM, the Jobs and Economic Development Committee will meet to hold the first discussions for the Community Development Block Grant cycle.
At 7:15, the Finance Committee will have a special meeting to authorize ordinances to provide funding for the Civil Service Exam and to grant Mayor Scott Schertzer the power to execute documents in clearing a deal for the land at a former gas plant site in Marion.
The City Council will then meet at 7:30. Those two ordinances could join the docket which includes two ordinances that would authorize advanced funds to the Violence Against Women ARRA Grand and a school resource officer.
The other new ordinance would authorize Tom Robbins to bid for three new police vehicles.
Older business includes stop signs on Wilson Avenue at Franconia and the possibility of changes in the employee handbook/personnel manual for the year 2010.
City Council meets in their chambers on the second floor of City Hall.
