Frank P. Hempy, 85, lived in Prospect.
Date: He died Wednesday November 4th, 2009 in the morning at the Partners of Marion.
Personal Information: Frank was born May 22nd, 1924 in Big Island to the late Frank P. and Pearl (Shuff) Hempy. He graduated from Waldo High School in 1942. He married Betty Doyle December 23rd, 1948. He was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, Hiram Lodge #18 F and AM in Delaware, Prospect American Legion #368 and the Prospect Senior Citizens. He was a retired carpenter with G and G Homes after over 30 years of service.
Survived By: Frank is survived by three sons: Mike (Gloria) Hempy of Prospect, Rex Hempy of Prospect, Bill (Shelly) Hempy of Delaware, one daughter: Carolyn (John) Van Eck of LaRue, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild, and one sister: Luella Hoffman of Columbus. His wife preceded him in death (September 10th, 1999) along with his parents, one son: Sky, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services: Stofcheck Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect is handling the arrangements. Funeral services will be Saturday November 7th, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call Friday November 6th, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
