The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northwest Ohio will host the Make-A-Wish Golf Classic on Monday, August 3, at Fallen Timbers Fairways in Waterville, Ohio. Registration for the Golf Classic will begin at 8am, followed by a shot-gun start at 8:30am. All money raised through this event will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, whose mission is to grant wishes to children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The wish experience provides encouragement to these children and time away from their medical challenges and hardships. Registration can be taken as a foursome or individual participants. The cost for a foursome is $300, and individuals can register for just $75. There are hole sponsorship opportunities at $150, and other sponsorship is available at $500, $1,000 and $5,000. The registration fee for the event includes green fees, a shared cart, range balls, lunch on the course, beverages and a steak dinner. There will also be a hole in one prize on one hole- a Jeep Wrangler, courtesy of Yark Automotive. Event participants will get to meet a wish child out on the course. "The Golf Classic has been a great fundraiser for Make-A-Wish of Northwest Ohio," said Melissa Kimball, Special Event Coordinator with Make-A-Wish of Northwest Ohio. "People are able to relax, have fun, hit a few golf balls and contribute to a worth-while cause benefitting local children. It’s just a great day all around." Retired Lucas County Schools Superintendent Tom Baker and Bert Mears of Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, and Brent Vogel of Fruchtman Marketing are co-coordinating the event.
