The Browns have terminated the contract of 10-year
veteran defensive back Kenny Wright, the team announced Wednesday.
Wright was not present at OTAs Wednesday for what head
coach Romeo Crennel called personal reasons.
On April 3, Wright was incarcerated after reportedly
being caught with marijuana in his vehicle in Pearland, Texas, and leading
police on a quarter-mile foot chase. The Browns have looked into the incident,
talked about it with Wright and decided to release him.
Wright appeared in 7 games for the Browns in 2007, his
first season with the team, with one start. During those games, he made 3
tackles on scrimmage downs, adding 3 more on special teams. Overall, Wright has
appeared in 133 NFL games for the Vikings, Texans, Jaguars, Redskins and Browns.
