The Pleasant Spartans remarkable streak came to an end
Friday as they fell in their regional finals contest with Coldwater 4-0.
The loss ended their winning streak at 19 games.
The Spartans ended the season 24-7.
The scoring got underway in the first against Taylor
Braun, a sophomore.
Braun, who threw 45 pitches in five perfect innings of
work on Thursday, could not avoid early trouble. A pop-up led to a
Coldwater runner tagging from third and scoring. The throw from shortstop
Matt McKinner got past catcher Andrew Kundrat and allowed Cory Klenke scampered
home for a 2-0 lead.
Pleasant had two on in the top of the first, but Brad
Potts struck out to end the threat.
