Cavs Take Hickson; Koufos Goes in First Round

With only one pick in the NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers took North Carolina State  Freshman JJ Hickson with the 19th pick.

Hickson led NC State in scoring (14.8 ppg, ranked 10th in the ACC) and rebounding (8.5 rpg, second).  He was named to the first team All Freshman conference team and was an honorable mention all-conference.

The Chicago Bulls selected Derrick Rose from Memphis with the first overall pick.  Miami followed by taking Kansas State power forward Michael Beasley second while Minnesota chose USC guard OJ Mayo.

Ohio State's Kosta Koufos went 23rd to the Utah Jazz.

Othello Hunter went undrafted.
