MTC Offers Online ABLE Opportunity

Marion Technical College ABLE is offering a special introductory opportunity for adults interested in the free on-line GED Test preparation program. This free program can also benefit adults who want to strengthen their basic skills before enrolling in college.

Saturday is Take Your Child to the Library Day

Saturday, February 4, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm is Take Your Child to the Library Day at the Marion Public Library. They invite you to join them for some library fun all day, with refreshments, a craft, a contest, movies and a puppet show at 2:00.

Thomas Wanted for Probation Violation

The Marion County Adult Probation Department is seeking 21-year-old Brittany Thomas for a probation violation. Thomas is a white female, 5'11" tall and 145 lbs with blue eyes and blonde hair. Her last known address is 262 East Mark Street in Marion.

Ohioans Report Losing $2 Million to Sweepstakes Scams

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has warned Ohioans to be on the lookout for sweepstakes scams. In 2011, the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section logged nearly 1,500 complaints about sweepstakes and prizes that reportedly cost Ohioans about $2 million in losses.

Marion Officer Attacked by Dog During Drug Raid

A Marion Police Department detective was seriously injured when he was bitten by a dog while attempting to make arrests for drug trafficking at a home on Avondale Avenue Thursday afternoon. Officials say the search warrant was the result of several months of drug investigation in regards to this residence.

Bosh Wanted for Alleged Armed Robbery

The Marion Police Department is seeking Cody O. Bosh on a felony warrant for Aggravated Robbery. Bosh is a 22-year-old white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighs 170 lbs. His last known address was 875 ½ Bennett Street.
