A Marion Police Department detective was seriously injured when he was bitten by a dog while attempting to make arrests for drug trafficking at a home on Avondale Avenue Thursday afternoon. Officials say the search warrant was the result of several months of drug investigation in regards to this residence.

The Marion Police Department executed a search warrant on Thursday, January 19, after numerous community complaints reporting the illegal sale of synthetic marijuana, commonly known as “Spice” or “K-2”. Officers say they previously made two separate undercover purchases on the products at Marion Food Mart, 887 East Center Street.

The Marion County Adult Probation Department is seeking 45-year-old Bobby Welsh. He is a white male, 5'9" tall and 170 lbs with brown eyes and brown hair. His last known address is 1207 Martinique Drive in Marion.
Welsh was placed on Community Control in June of 2011 for a Possession of Cocaine conviction and has stopped reporting to his Probation Officer.
Parker Wanted for Probation Violation
|The Marion County Adult Probation Department is seeking 25-year-old Corey L. Parker. He is a white male, 5'8" tall and 150 lbs with blue eyes and brown hair. His last known address is 499 Linda Mel Drive in Marion.
Update: Adult Probation says they received a phone tip with the location of Parker and he was arrested by officers.

A Michigan man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say they seized 1,283 baggies of heroin and 50 Ecstasy pills, valued at $12,000 during a traffic stop Wednesday on US 23 in Marion County.
Patrol Report Shows Details on Identity Theft Arrests
|Franklin, Butler and Pickaway counties have had the most identity crime arrests according to new statistics released by the Patrol today. Troopers made 572 identity crime arrests statewide from January 2010 through September 2011. Several arrests were also made in Marion County along U.S. 23.
