Garage Sale Raises Over $4,000 for Hospice

The annual Marion General Hospital Hospice garage sale, hosted by the hospice volunteers, raises funds for use by hospice patients and families who may need extra assistance. Modern Woodmen of America Camp 3866 of Marion helps them increase the final tally by matching the money they raise, up to $1,000.

This year, the total raised for the event, including the $1,000 matching funds from Modern Woodmen, was $4,078.

The Matching Fund program offers Modern Woodmen camp members nationwide the chance to show their support of a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fundraisers. Modern Woodmen matches money raised up to $2,500. These fundraising projects contribute more than $5 million to community needs nationwide each year.

Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, today Modern Woodmen of America offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States. The organization’s Marion camp provides a number of volunteer service and social activities for local members.
