Elgin High School Presents “Into the Woods”
Elgin High School will present the Stephen Sondheim musical of "Into the Woods" on April 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elgin High School auditorium. Tickets are set at one price at $7.00 and all seats are reserved.
If you like fairy tales, organizers say you will love the musical. It is a comedy that combines Cinderella, her stepmother and sisters, The Princes, a mysterious man, Jack and The Beanstalk and his mother, The Baker and his wife, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Witch and many more. Each character is in search of their wish that takes them "into the woods". They all must pull together when "the giant" comes down the beanstalk.
Tanyce Addison, director of the musical, says there are many people involved producing the musical. It's a task that involves over a hundred people. Many are volunteer parents and friends of the music department. She says they are very lucky to have returning talented people in putting this all together, including Mr. Max Griffith, drama; Mr. Dustin Rawlins, choreography; Mr. Derek French, business producer; and Mrs. Sandee Lauer, tickets.
On Saturday, April 9, you can join them at the dinner theater before the show to meet the cast and have special "ever after" memories. The dinner tickets are separate from the musical ticket and are $13.00 each.
Tickets are available at the high school office. You can get more information by calling 740-383-5118.
